Honoring Our Legacy

We are beyond excited to share a monumental milestone with you – Abilities Network is celebrating its 60th anniversary! For six decades, we have been dedicated to fostering inclusive communities and making a profound impact on the lives of individuals, children, families, seniors, child care providers, parents, and the entire Maryland community.
Since our founding in 1964 as the Epilepsy Association of Maryland, our journey has been marked by growth, resilience, and innovation. Today, we celebrate not just the milestones we’ve achieved, but also the incredible people who have made our success possible – our passionate staff, volunteers, partners, and, most importantly, you, our community members.
We invite you to save the date for our 60th Anniversary Celebration at the Baltimore Museum of Industry on Wednesday, September 25th, from 6-9:00 pm. This special event will be a time to reflect on our journey, honor the dedicated individuals who have brought us here, and recommit to the values and aspirations that unite us.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Abilities Network continues to strive to ensure that all the people we support, with all their differences, similarities, and abilities, are valued. Without Abilities Network 5,000 individuals and families annually throughout Maryland would be left without resources to navigate their communities. Because Abilities Network exists, Maryland’s child care centers, schools, employers, recreational opportunities, and the community at large is better ready to include the babies, children, teens, adults, and seniors we support.

Donating to Abilities Network means you feel passionately about the value of all citizens and their right to be included in the community to reach their fullest potential.

Our Community and Employment Partners program every year provides over 84,000 hours of support to adults with Intellectual Disabilities

2000 annual home visits Healthy Families’ Family Support Specialists complete offering support and resources to families

792 total moves our Senior Services program carried out in our first 10 years
